Coming Soon: LightspeedEVO Login Changes

Changes to our daily infrastructure —like construction — are inconvenient while they occur, but in the end they make life easier and better.

With that in mind, we’re making an upgrade to Lightspeed that will help improve your security. Over the next few months, we will be changing the login process for LightspeedEVO. Instead of logging in with a username and password, you will need to log in with your email address and a password.

Why are we doing this?

Most companies today require email as an advanced form of security to verify identity. For example, banks and other companies require the use of email and multifactor authentication (MFA) to prevent hackers from compromising your account. Changing from the current username and password to the more secure industry standard of an email validated login is a necessary change. This will help ensure that your system and transactions are protected. It will also enable certain technologies that are required for continued growth and operation of the Lightspeed DMS.

When will this happen?

This will be a staged rollout. When the release with the email login function arrives at your dealership, individual users will need to create their new login. They can do this as soon as they receive the notice or at any time within the 45-day window. After the 45 days, the old username login method will be disabled.

How does it work?

When this function is enabled for your dealership, each employee will be prompted to enter their email address when they log in. For more details about this function, search for Email Login in Service Connect.

What should I do to prepare?

Make sure each of your employees have an email address. This can be a work or a personal email address. It’s easy to set up new emails for Gmail or other email services if needed.

We know that change is hard. Just know that we’re doing it to help your business stay protected. In the meantime, please reach out to your Lightspeed representative with any questions.
